Meet the Palmetto Suns Detailing Team

  • Dylan Shaffer

Dylan is the owner/shop manager at Palmetto Suns Detailing. In his early career he learned skills in car detailing, water damage restoration, and mold remediation before combining all three into a career at Palmetto Suns Detailing. Now he and his team run Charleston’s favorite full-service car detailing shop.

Plus if you show up on Saturday, his daughter Cali might be spraying your car down with the foam cannon - it’s her favorite job!

  • Robert Plotnyi

Known in the shop as the Ukranian Wonder Boy, Robert is Palmetto Suns’ secret weapon. He is literally Charleston’s top expert in paint correction, ceramic coatings, etched glass correction, and upholstery repair. He is fresh from the Ukraine with his wife and young child. He doesn’t speak a lick of English so you’ll have to chat with Dylan to get on his schedule…but your car will look so amazing that you literally won’t recognize it.

  • Cole Pokrant

Cole moved to town from Pittsburgh where he worked at a detailing training company that trained detailers to run their own shops. Now he details at Palmetto Suns and spends quite a bit of time paint correcting and polishing to get customers’ cars shining like new. He also helps to train our new incoming staff to make sure every car lives up to the lofty Palmetto Suns standards.

  • Jason Montoya

Jason recently joined the shop after working in a shop in Virginia Beach for a number of years. He’s the shop’s true car bro. He works on his own car all the time, is a member of a local car club, and goes to the car shows on the weekends. He makes every client’s car his own personal project and puts his passion into it like his own car.

Guys at the shop like to joke with him that his Civic isn’t slammed quite enough….and he spends the rest of the day wondering if maybe could drop it another eighth of an inch. You can be the judge when you come by the shop.

  • Lucas Leilich

Lucas is kicking off his car career at Palmetto Suns and joined the team this last summer. He was working at his dad’s termite company and after visiting the shop to get a company car detailed he said: ‘Dad I think I’m a car bro, not a bug bro!’ So he talked to Dylan, applied, and joined the team. Now he’s working at the shop or out on mobile trying to get as much experience as he can.
